Honey Mustard Chicken
After my first time making this, it instantly became our favorite marinade. The caramelized crispy edges are irresistible. If your family loves it as much as mine does, you may want to multiply the recipe.
3 chicken breasts or thighs
¼ cup honey or maple syrup
¼ cup oil
2 spoonfuls of brown mustard or mustard
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder or garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper
Add all ingredients to a bag, bowl, or container and marinate chicken for 1-24 hours in the refrigerator. If using chicken breasts, cut into strips.
Heat grill to 400°F. Place chicken on the grill and cook for 6 minutes. Flip and continue cooking for another 6-8 minutes until a golden crust is developed and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Notes: You can cook on a cast iron skillet instead, on medium-high heat, flipping once after a golden crust is developed, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. We like to slice and serve on a salad with boiled egg, avocado, tomatoes, and bacon. To make a complementary honey mustard dressing, mix brown mustard and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup together, and thin with water until desired consistency is reached.
