Southwestern Baked Salmon

With bold, smoky flavors and a simple prep, this southwestern baked salmon is a family favorite!

  • Salmon filets

  • Seasonings: salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chili powder

  • Toppings: Avocado mash (see notes), feta, pickled red onion, cilantro, limes

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Add salmon to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle each filet equally with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and chili powder (don’t overthink it). Add an optional tablespoon of butter or spray of avocado oil on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on size, until internal temperature reaches 145°F.

  3. To make the avocado topping, mash 1 avocado in a bowl and season with salt and the zest and juice of 1 lime. Add a handful of torn cilantro and mix.

  4. Remove salmon from oven, top with avocado mash, pickled red onion, feta, and more cilantro. Enjoy!

Notes: You can serve with rice or your favorite vegetables. We use an instant read thermometer to ensure we reach a safe internal temperature.
